Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will develop an understanding of creating and managing complex Photoshop documents using Layers.
  • Students will be able to identify different uses of Layers in design: transforming, reordering, removing, blending and making the layers translucent.
  • In so doing students will be able to refresh their ideas of using colour to develop ideas for potential outcomes.

Expected prior knowledge:
Students will have already looked at the tools used in Photoshop as well as the principles of design (aesthetics and function); this lesson could be a refresher at the beginning of a new project.

PowerPoint/artifacts of Photoshop products and how they are done. Exhibit or hand out different piece of broachers / flyers / other documents to each group and get them to discuss the plus and minus points about what each of those document makes them think of, associations, emotions etc. Then have one member of each group report back to the class
